I Made A Terrible Mistake' Says Heir to The British Throne - Prince William divorces Kate

LONDON—Barely a month after marrying 29-year-old Kate Middleton in a royal wedding ceremony watched by an estimated 2 billion people worldwide, Prince William announced Tuesday that he and Middleton have divorced and that the entire marriage was "a tremendous mistake in every possible regard." "I really don't know what I was thinking—we're a terrible match, I don't love her and never have, and, to be honest, I never really had any interest in being married in the first place," announced the now unattached Prince William to a dead-silent British press corps. "People thought our wedding was some sort of fairy tale, but I assure you it was all just some ghastly ceremonial farce that got out of hand. I'm just relieved it's over, frankly. And I'm glad I'll never have to see that awful woman again." Prince William then told the assembled reporters, "Well, see you all later," smiled, and walked back into Buckingham Palace.

A flash of thigh, a sensational week for Kate - Duchess of Cambridge.

With a swish and a thunderous sigh of relief, the red velvet curtain falls on the end of the first week of the first official royal tour for the Duchess of Cambridge.

And so far, so very, very good. Most excellent work, your royal Sister of Pippa-ness.

Really, things could not have gone better. During her nine days in Canada, the Duchess did not squash any toddlers under her impeccable nude platforms, suffer a wardrobe malfunction nor flash any unfortunate boob-age at the grateful Canadian nation.

Agreed, there were a few blowy moments in cricket whites and primrose silk when we saw envious yardage of royal thigh and the merest glimpse of knickerdom. Yet after a few desperate tugs on the hem of her pretty summer dresses, duchessorial blushes were spared.
No circle-of-shame snaps in a glossy magazine for HRH Kate this week, thank you very much. Elsewhere, international incidents, diplomatic skirmishes, awkward moments when she fled to the airport clutching her passport, trying to buy a one-way ticket to Monaco? All avoided.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen their 'perfect home' as their London residence in the grounds of Kensington Palace

PRINCE William and his new bride have set up home in a little cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace. The pretty house, which is in a quiet spot in the palace complex, is said to be the “perfect home” for the newlyweds, who are keen to start a family.Reached through an archway, it has its own private garden and has been hand-picked by the couple as their new London residence.Crates of their possessions arrived at the cottage on Thursday, we can reveal. Boxes and suitcases were piled up on the lawn outside the house before being carried in by staff.Wills, who turns 29 on Tuesday, and Kate, 29, made a final decision on the cottage earlier this month after they were given a choice of properties in the grounds of the palace.
An insider said: “There was a lot of excitement on Thursday.
“This is them setting up home as a married couple.
“It’s an absolutely smashing little house. It’s so quiet there you’d never think you were in the middle of London.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will officially take up residence at the cottage when they arrive back from their 11-day tour of Canada and America next month. They will keep their small home in Anglesey, North Wales, where William is based as a search-and-rescue pilot. And they will also have an apartment in the main palace.Until now, the couple’s London base has been Clarence House in the bachelor flat William previously shared with younger brother Prince Harry, 26.The source added: “The cottage is the perfect house to start their new lives together until they have a family and need a bigger space.”William and Harry lived in apartment eight of Kensington Palace with their mum Diana until her death in 1997 and spent many happy hours playing in the gardens of the palace. The gated 17th Century palace sits next to the most expensive residential street in Britain, Kensington Palace Gardens in Hyde Park, where the average house price is £19.3million.Conveniently, the palace is also a stone’s throw away from the flat of Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton.A St James’s Palace spokesman confirmed the delivery of the couple’s possessions.
“They are in the process of moving in and they expect fully to move in after their return from Canada,” he added.

“Their home will remain Anglesey, but Kensington Palace will become their London residence.”

Royal Couple Prince William And Kate Middleton Marriage Ceremony

Bells pealed, crowds cheered, even the sun put in a timely appearance, as Prince William emerged from Westminster Abbey with his bride on his arm.Wearing a broad smile, a Wartski wedding ring of Welsh gold and an ivory gown with lace applique, Kate Middleton – now Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge – joined The Firm amid the pomp and pageantry Britain prides itself on performing well. Before a global television audience of many millions, Kate played her part to perfection. From the dress – by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, kept a secret until the last moment and sending the British fashion industry into paroxyms of ecstasy – to the 1936 Cartier diamond tiara loaned by the Queen, she looked every inch the fairytale princess.Which, of course, she was not. The Queen's conferring of the ancient title of Duke of Cambridge on her grandson just hours before the ceremony deprived his wife of the title Princess Catherine. But she is a duchess, which is several rungs up the social ladder than her standing before entering the 1,000-year-old abbey this morning. And there was no mention of fairytale – unlike 30 years ago when Robert Runcie, then Archbishop of Canterbury, gushingly pronounced Prince Charles's union with Lady Diana Spencer "the stuff of fairytale". Lessons have since been learned.Instead, the Bishop of London, the Rt Rev Richard Chartres, read a prayer penned by William and Kate, and asking for spiritual help to guide them through their new life together. And this time, the bride did not forget her groom's name and the groom did not stumble over the wedding vows. Indeed, apart from some slight wrestling required get the tight ring on to Kate's finger, everything appeared to go without a hitch.William, in the bright red dress uniform of a colonel of the Irish Guards, whispered: "You look incredible, beautiful," as his bride arrived at his side in front of the High Altar. The two exchanged smiles and glances throughout the service. The couple, in the 1902 state landau, were borne to Buckingham Palace on a sea of union flags and a tide of well wishes. And the kiss on the palace balcony, duly demanded by the crowd below, was executed with poise and with a few blushes from an embarrassed William. It was a fleeting and quite chaste kiss. It was repeated as the crowd bayed for more, with William's seeming awkwardness reflecting his father's own self-consciousness when he had been required to perform "that caper" in front of millions.
It was the father of the modern British constitution, the 19th-century essayist Walter Bagehot, who once wrote "a royal family sweetens politics by the seasonable addition of nice and pretty events".Such was today's occasion, a moment of light to pierce the economic gloom. Kate, unblemished, beautiful and carrying a bridal bouquet that included sweet Williams in tribute to her prince, hid her nerves well. There surely were nerves as the couple made their vows in front of God, the so-called great and the good and a global TV audience of millions.About 44 foreign royals were seated close to 51 members of the Queen's extended family. The lesser royals had been bussed to the abbey in minibuses.
After the couple said their vows, in which she did not promise to obey William, the archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, declared: "I pronounce that they be man and wife together, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen."They spent a private moment together with their families as they signed the marriage register. The congregation included heads of state, diplomats, charity workers and the couple's friends. David Beckham, prominently displaying his OBE on the right lapel of his Ralph Lauren morning suit, was accompanied by his pregnant wife Victoria. Elton John, the singer, and Guy Ritchie, the film director, were among the celebrity faction.David Cameron, who slept on the Mall the night before Charles and Diana's wedding, wore morning dress while his wife, Samantha, chose to go hatless, unlike most of the female guests. The Middleton family guests were bussed in four silver mini-coaches from the Goring hotel, which the family had taken over for the pre-wedding night, thus bestowing on the hotel global publicity of inestimable value.
Other guests included Hash and Chan Shingadia, who run the convenience store in the Middletons' Berkshire village of Bucklebury, and obligingly added a love of Haribo sweets to Kate's many attributes.Villagers not in possession of a golden wedding ticket indulged in some celebratory duck and lamb racing on the green – and a spot of Morris dancing.Back at Buckingham Palace, 650 of the guests enjoyed a champagne and canape reception.Royal officials said William and Kate were involved in planning their wedding day, from the music at the ceremony to the flowers and the cake.Guests and observers agreed, it was a stylish marriage. Naturally it included a carriage. There was, though, a bicycle made for two at their disposal – a tandem given to the couple as a wedding present by the London mayor, Boris Johnson.

Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock

MONACO — Monaco's Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene promised each other love and fidelity in an extravagant religious wedding Saturday attended by international celebrities and royalty, bringing new allure to the tiny principality known for its luxurious casinos and as stomping ground for the rich and famous.

The Catholic service followed an intimate civil ceremony Friday, which saw Charlene officially transformed from commoner into royalty. The marriage of the 53-year-old prince and the 33-year-old Charlene Wittstock, a one-time Olympic swimmer from South Africa who is now known as Princess Charlene, ended a three-decade wait for a new princess.

The last wedding of a ruling prince in Monaco was in 1956, when Hollywood star Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier III.

Saturday's ceremony was attended by guests including former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and bohemian designer Roberto Cavalli, of Italy. Thousands of Monegasque citizens cheered the proceedings while watching on large screens set up outside the palace, where both ceremonies were held.

Charlene swept along the red carpet leading into the palace on her father's arm. In her sumptuous boat neck gown by Giorgio Armani Prive, her hair pulled back in a swirling French twist and with only the lightest touch of makeup, she seemed to channel some of Grace's effortless elegance.
